A good road trip setup is mostly about keeping the car functional for hours at a stretch. Less fumbling, less stopping, more time actually driving. These are the things that stay in my car.
Backseat Car Organizer
Hangs from the front seat headrests and gives back-seat passengers pockets for drinks, snacks, tablets, and the things that would otherwise end up on the floor within the first hour. Keeps the car cleaner and back-seat passengers more self-sufficient.
Waterproof Car Trash Can
A contained, wipeable place for wrappers, cups, and trash that doesn't end up on the floor mat. Makes the end-of-trip cleanup take three minutes instead of thirty.
Portable Cooler Bag
Keeps drinks and snacks cold between stops without needing a plug or a full-size cooler. Pack it at the start of the trip and refill it with ice at gas stations when you need to.
Car Phone Mount
Keeps navigation visible and hands-free. The kind of small thing that seems optional until you've tried to check directions while driving and realized it's neither safe nor convenient.
Travel Pillow
For passengers and rest-stop breaks. Road trips are long, naps are real, and a neck pillow makes both more comfortable than trying to sleep against a window.
That's what stays in my car. Most of it is invisible until you need it, and then it's exactly the right thing to have.
If anything here ends up in your car, thank you. It helps keep Sunshine and Travel running, and it doesn't cost anything extra.
Happy travels.
Jen
